Olde Goat Cafe isn't a franchise or an anonymous coffee stand. We are a neighborhood cafe born right inside Nikiski Hardware & Supply, designed from the ground up as a community gathering space for the Kenai Peninsula.
The Hardware Store Gathering Space
In Alaska, hardware stores have always been much more than retail shops—they are community hubs where neighbors check in on each other, tradespeople compare notes on the morning job, and locals gather when the snow blows hard off Cook Inlet.
When Nikiski Hardware & Supply was built, it was constructed with genuine respect for the area’s pioneers. Builders incorporated salvaged timber and reclaimed architectural materials from original Kenai Peninsula homesteads, infusing the space with true Alaska character.
The Olde Goat Cafe grew directly out of that foundation. We wanted to create a comfortable, rustic, yet modern gathering space where people could sit down over an exceptional espresso, bite into a warm sourdough breakfast sandwich, and feel right at home.
The Olde Goat Philosophy
Our motto has always been simple: "We serve fine coffee and crafted eats for the people who get stuff done." Nikiski is a hardworking community of energy workers, fishermen, builders, teachers, and homesteaders. We believe hearty, honest food and bold coffee should be served without pretension, whether you have twenty minutes to sit and talk or only three minutes to swing through our drive-through window.
