Olde Goat Cafe is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all visitors, including people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Olde Goat Cafe strives to conform with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

Accessibility Measures Implemented

Semantic HTML Menus: Our menu items are coded as semantic HTML rather than unreadable PDFs or images, enabling screen readers and assistive technology to read descriptions, dietary tags, and prices.
Large, Legible Typography: Font sizes and color contrast ratios exceed WCAG AA requirements for high legibility in bright sunlight or low-contrast environments.
Keyboard Navigation: Full keyboard support including visible focus indicators (`:focus-visible`) and a "Skip to main content" link.
Touch Target Sizing: All interactive buttons, links, and mobile navigation items maintain a minimum tap target size of 44x44 pixels.
Meaningful Alt Text: All imagery is accompanied by descriptive text descriptions.
Physical Accessibility: Our physical location inside Nikiski Hardware & Supply features ground-level entry, automatic sliding doors, wide aisles, and an accessible drive-through window.
